Facebook or Twitter to promote your home based business?

I remember a time when people would explore the internet. Now they are herded into FB and they are stuck like flies on fly paper.

Don't waste any more time!! If you have a facebook, delete it. If you have an instagram account delete that as well. Reach out and call and text people, meet with them, let's start to help one another again.

Is FaceBook a REAL Waste of Time? LOTS of people say YES...

My problem is that FaceBook takes up a lot of time. We are living in a world where no one really knows anyone, but everyone is connected. You learn a heck of a LOT more on Twitter.  Twitter is now my number one source for hard news and opinions I value, as well as a relational connecting point, not a popularity contest like Facebook.

Why use Twitter?

People express wants and needs on Twitter all the time. Keyword targeting in timeline lets you reach Twitter users based on the keywords in their recent Tweets and the Tweets with which users recently engaged. Show users the right message, at the right moment, in the right context. More on keyword targeting in a timeline.

Our community is passionate about everything from shoes to semiconductors. We can help you find your ideal audience using hundreds of different interest targets. More on interest targeting.

Twitter is used in nearly every country in the world and is available in more than 35 languages. Reach a global audience or one that’s hyper-local. We have tools for targeting by country or metro area. More on geo-targeting.

76% of Twitter users log in via their mobile devices. Twitter Ads gives you the option to target your ads to Android, iOS or Blackberry. More on device targeting.

I quit because of many reasons. Facebook is now little more than mindless memes, one-liners, and endless argumentation. I can get all of the benefits of Facebook (ex- keeping up with friends) merely by spending more time with them. But controlling which stories appear in people's feeds... I've noticed, in the month or so that I've been off of Facebook (or longer?), that I already feel more positive. Facebook was a leech that I'm more than happy to get rid of.

Read the Book Move Fast and Break Things

HOW FACEBOOK, GOOGLE, AND AMAZON CORNERED CULTURE AND UNDERMINED DEMOCRACY

A stinging polemic that traces the destructive monopolization of the Internet by Google, Facebook and Amazon, and that proposes a new future for musicians, journalists, authors and filmmakers in the digital age. - https://www.jontaplin.com/move-fast-and-break-things

"Move Fast and Break Things" is the  most important book yet about the tragic consequences of monopoly power in the internet. Google, Facebook and Amazon have done wonderful things, but by a combination of design and unintended consequences, they have caused great harm to the creative arts, our culture and (in the case of Google and Facebook) our politics.

Children are seeing or sharing of violent, sexual and pornographic content -  Inaccurate or false information and extreme views -  Promotion of harmful behaviors including self-harm, anorexia and suicide violence and racism - Over-sharing of personal information - Actively or unintentionally getting involved in bullying or hurtful behavior.

The effects on our Children and Society

Getting upset and depressed by things they have seen and being uncertain about what to do. Engaging, or being pressured into engaging in more risky behavior either by accident or by design. Developing unrealistic, and perhaps depressing ideals of body image and gender. Becoming subject to peer pressure or interactions that are intense or too difficult to handle. Creating an online reputation that may create problems for them in the future.
